Fellow Lions, Friends of the Elk Grove Lions Club and our Community.

As a reminder to all, we voted at a prior board meeting to drop our 2nd Monday Meeting and will be having our board meetings on the 3rd Monday and our general meetings on the 4th Monday of each month except for November and December. The board meetings will be held at Lion Warren’s house through June and starting in July we will have our board meetings at the Albiani Recreation Center.

We are continuing our work on building a standard operating manual that describes the duties of each of the board positions as well as the step-by-step process of managing each function. Our hope is that it will be much easier to bring new members onboard and to have a better mentoring program where new members can step up to run one of our events. This is a task that is much easier with the info in place combined with a mentor to bring you through the process of learning how to manage an event. If you have not yet forwarded your info to Lorene, please do so before our board meeting on the 3rd Monday in January.

We had a great Parade of Lights which works out to be a great fundraiser for our club. According to Lion Jack, we could have used a few additional lions to walk the parade.

The following weekend, we had a great turnout for our Annual Crab and Shrimp Feed. Thanks to all who showed up to support the event, especially since it is on the same day as our Community Pancake Breakfast.

And finally, thanks to our great cooks, we had a wonderful Christmas Dinner event as usual.

A special thanks to Santa for stopping by to pass out gifts to our kids.

Thank you to our club members who have contributed by showing up to provide the support for all of our community events and fundraising efforts. I am proud to call myself an Elk Grove Lion.

Our community projects often support local children and schools with new programs and resources. Internationally, we offer many programs.

Fellow Lions, Friends of the Elk Grove Lions Club and our Community.

As usual, we had a great November and are looking forward to a great December.

We had a productive board meeting on the 2nd of December where we discussed our ongoing efforts to put together a standard operating manual that describes the duties of each of the board positions as well as the step-by-step process of managing each function. Our hope is that it will be much easier to bring new members onboard and to have a better mentoring program where new members can step up to run one of our events. This is a task that is much easier with the info in place combined with a mentor to bring you through the process of learning how to manage an event.

Thanks to our great cooks, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner event as usual. We had quite a turnout and are looking forward to a similar turnout for our Christmas Dinner next month.

Don’t you agree that Lorene out did herself with the great decorations. It was a feast fit for a Lion?

Also a special thank you to Lion Brad and his crew who assisted with traffic control for the Food Bank’s turkey dinner box distrubition.

Also in December we are gearing up for the Parade of Lights, our annual Crab Feed and

the move of our Conex to the old Sunset Sky Ranch airport on Grantline Road.

Thank you to our club members who have contributed by showing up to provide the support for all of our community events and fundraising efforts. I am proud to call myself an Elk Grove Lion.

Fellow Lions, Friends of the Elk Grove Lions Club and our Community.

We are gearing up for a busy month with our Community Pancake Breakfast, the dedication of a park named for one of our past members, Don Vinenga, our Uplift Secret Santa Program and of course, our annual Thanksgiving Dinner

Thank you to our club members who have contributed by showing up to provide the support for all of our community events and fundraising efforts. I am proud to call myself an Elk Grove Lion.

Lions are in 200 countries and geographic areas. We have 45,000 clubs with over 1.3 million members world wide. We have a dynamic history. We are best known for fighting blindness — it’s part of our history as well as our work today. But we also volunteer for many different kinds of projects including disaster relief — across many borders. We serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools with new programs and resources. Internationally, we offer many programs.

- We hope you will consider joining our club.
- To become a Lion, you must be of good moral character and good reputation in our community.
- Membership is by invitation.
- If you’re interested in being invited to join Lions Club of Elk Grove, you may want to consider some of the following facts about Lionism:

We also send our thanks out to Dr. Diana Holcomb, O.D. for her support of our mission to support people with visual impairments. You can find Crystal View Optometry at Dr. Diana Holcomb’s office at 8419 Elk Grove-Florin Road, Elk Grove, CA 95624 just south of Calvine Road, next to the Bel Air Market.
