President’s Message 
Immediate Past President Lion Jack A Edwards
Thanks for all your help in a very busy year. It has been a pleasure to serve as your President for the past year.
For those who were able to attend our installation dinner, thanks for being there. Also thanks to our special guests District Governor Kumar Kalagara, District Governor Dr. Venkatachalam Annavajjhala from the Hyderabad Lions in India, Cora Ramirez, PDG Mike Retzlaff and Lion Sheri Retzlaff and David & Debra Herberger from the EG Citizen. Thanks to Lion Agustin for cooking.
I want to acknowledge the Lions who were recognized at our installation dinner. The following lions were recognized for 100% participation last year: Lions Anderson, Brewer, Dano, Edwards, Fuhs, Heston, Jauregui, King, Kirkland, John Muegge, Rebecca Muegge, Neil, Pearson, Sanchez, Strong, Jim Switzgable, Tallerico, Thompson, Turner, Weaver and Zehnder.
My selection for the Lion of the year for 2016-2017 was Lion Don Thompson and my selection for the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for 2016-2017 was presented to Lion Brad Dano.
Special recognition for their support to me through the year went to Lions Pancho, Warren, Dan, Brad & Joe who each received a personalized Lions apron.
I plan to be an active past president, providing assistance to incoming President Sharon Mika. Please join me and offer your support of our new President.

Lions are in 200 countries and geographic areas. We have 45,000 clubs with over 1.3 million members world wide. We have a dynamic history. We are best known for fighting blindness — it’s part of our history as well as our work today. But we also volunteer for many different kinds of projects including disaster relief — across many borders. We serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools with new programs and resources. Internationally, we offer many programs.
