President’s Message
Lion President Brad Dano
It is difficult to realize that I have only one more issue of the Stag to tell you what we are doing and to say thanks to our members for their support.
Over the past month, we have been busy as usual. We went through the process of selecting our new board of directors for the coming year. Congratulations on all of our members who volunteered or accepted the nominations to serve the club in the coming year.
We also sent out renewal notices for our members so that we would start the new fiscal year with all our dues paid up before the start of the year.
As usual, there are several activities that our members are working on had have worked on since the last Stag. Of course, there was the Senior Center Breakfast on the second Saturday of April and we are getting ready for the one in May. Several Lions have volunteered to help the Senior Center with their Butterfly Tea on April 20th. Lion Jey and crew worked the Jesse Baker Games on the 25th and 26th of April and the kids loved the hotdogs and burgers.
As we moved into May, we had our Big Day of Giving fundraiser thanks to Lion Jack and his crew. We received a little over $3,000 in donations. That same day, May 2nd, Lion Warren and his crew are scheduled to work at the Spotlight on Scholars event for the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation. There are several more events scheduled in May, like the county fair, and I know you will all step up to help the lead Lion as needed.
To finish the month of April off in style, I along with some of the new board members, attended the annual 4C5 conference. Thanks for being there to support our club.
Thanks again for all you have done this past year to make my term as your President so successful.

Application for Membership
Lions are in 200 countries and geographic areas. We have 45,000 clubs with over 1.3 million members world wide. We have a dynamic history. We are best known for fighting blindness — it’s part of our history as well as our work today. But we also volunteer for many different kinds of projects including disaster relief — across many borders. We serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools with new programs and resources. Internationally, we offer many programs.
-
- We hope you will consider joining our club.
- To become a Lion, you must be of good moral character and good reputation in our community.
- Membership is by invitation.
- If you’re interested in being invited to join Lions Club of Elk Grove, you may want to consider some of the following facts about Lionism:
- Lions are active.
- Our motto is “We Serve.”
