Heinz Georg Leonhardt, 85, of Gore, VA, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.

Before relocating to Virginia to be closer to his sister He was a long time member of the Elk Grove Lions Club. He was a member that it was a joy to be around at our many functions. Always with a quick laugh.

Heinz was born in Germany, the son of the late Jakob and Agnes Leonhardt. He served our country for 23 years in the United States Air Force. Heinz also worked for the United States Postal Service. He attended New Hope Baptist Church in Cross Junction. Heinz was a member of the Lions Club, American Legion and VFW. He loved to fish and enjoyed traveling to Alaska. Heinz was fun to be around, and people gravitated to him because of his fun-loving nature.

He married Alberta Wescott on February 19, 1961, in Sacramento, CA and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2018.
