Fellow Lions, Friends of the Elk Grove Lions Club and our Community. First of all, I want to welcome our newest members, Tim & Denise O’Hara and Treavor “TJ” Weaver. I am especially happy to have my son join our Lions Club. Thanks for becoming a part of this great organization. Also during the last meeting of the month, PDG Andy presented Lion Jack Edwards with several awards from the District from his work as our Zone Chairperson.
Earlier this month we provided a dinner for the group at Shortline Lake. We also provided a spaghetti dinner for the Adreani PTA.
As September comes to an end, we are getting real busy. We are currently working on assisting the CSD with their Great Pumpkin Festival on October 1 & 2. We will be providing lunch on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday to their staff and volunteers as part of our obligation to CSD for the use of their facilities for our meetings. On the second Saturday, we will again be providing the Community Pancake Breakfast at the Albiani Recreational Center. Just two weeks later, we will be hosting our annual Day of the Day Carnitas Festival which we have not held for the past couple of years because of Covid.
Coming up in November we will be assisting the Food Bank with their annual Turkey Box give-away by providing traffic control for them on the 19th. We will follow that in December with the return of our annual Shrimp and Spaghetti Feed. Because of the Illumination Festival on the 2nd Saturday of December, we will have our event on the 10th of December. This year we will be partnering with the Elk Grove Optimist Club for this event.
Sincerely,
Lion Warren Weaver

Lions are in 200 countries and geographic areas. We have 45,000 clubs with over 1.3 million members world wide. We have a dynamic history. We are best known for fighting blindness — it’s part of our history as well as our work today. After a very busy July, we had a quiet August. We cooked dinner and breakfast for the scouts and other campers at the Campout in the Park for CSD. Of course, we had our regular course of meetings including a meeting to work on our contract with CSD in the coming year. We had a good turnout for our Community Pancake Breakfast on the 2nd Saturday of the month.
Our Lions also cooked for the Troop 59 Court of Honor this month. We ended the month with a pancake breakfast for the FFA and school staff at Elk Grove High School.
Next month we will have another dinner for Shortline Lake as well as the spaghetti feed for Adreani PTA.
Sincerely,
Lion Warren Weaver

Fellow Lions, Friends of the Elk Grove Lions Club and our Community. We are looking forward to a busy and exciting year. Thanks again for those of you who voted for me as your president and for those who have stepped up and will continue to step up to help us succeed with our mission, To Serve.
We will be starting the year off with plenty of activities on our calendar. In addition to our meetings, we will be assisting the Elk Grove Food Bank at their annual Run4Hunger by providing parking control and general assistance. We will follow that with hosting our monthly Community Pancake Breakfast on the 2nd Saturday of July.
During the last 4 days of the month, we will handle parking control for the Strauss Festival at Elk Grove Park.
If that is not enough, on the Saturday that we will be handling parking for the Strauss Festival, we will be cooking pancakes and providing the sight van for the annual Child Spree at Kohl’s which is managed by the Optimist Club.
I call that getting the year off to a great start.
Next month we will handle the cooking at the Campout in the Park for the CSD and provide a dinner for the ski group at Shortline Lake.
Sincerely,
Lion Warren Weaver
