Fellow Lions, Friends of the Elk Grove Lions Club and our Community.
We were busy as usual for December. We had a great time on the 2nd Saturday of the month hosting our Community Pancake Breakfast with over 150 guests. We had both the members from Post 55 in attendance as well as the Elk Grove Rotary Club with their breakfast with Santa.
All of the prep work for the Holiday of Lights Parade at District 56 contributed to it being a success. Our club is the sponsor of this event, in coordination with the City and with the help of Lion Lynden and Lion Jack. It was a great success with no rain this year. In addition several of our members, who are past Citizens of the Year, attended the Citizen of the Year Dinner on the 4th of December where they recognized Jon Colton, a member of Elk Grove Rotary. Finally, thanks to our great Lions crew and our partnership from the Optimist Club, we had a successful December Crab Feed. As always we couldn’t do this without assistance from the Elk Grove HS FFA students and teachers. Thank you.
I’m proud of our club and all that we do for our community. Our schedule is the busiest it has been in years, and that means we are meeting our mission to serve.

But we also volunteer for many different kinds of projects including disaster relief — across many borders. We serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools with new programs and resources. Internationally, we offer many programs.
