As unusual, we have been holding our meetings online using Zoom. All members who have email addresses listed with the club have been sent these meeting notices. At this time, I know of only one member who chooses to not use email and, of course, who has not received these email notices.
Remember that we are only doing two meetings per month during the Covid-19 situation. We have our board meeting on the 3rd Monday Board Meeting and our regular 4th Monday meeting so that we can advise members who did not attend our board meeting what transpired during the board meeting. All members are welcome to our board meetings.
The March board meeting will be on the 16th and we will have our regular 4th Monday meeting on the 23rd.
I have been working closely with CSD to get our annual contract in place, and we now have the signed contract for our use of the Albiani Recreational Center in place with plans to have our first live face-to-face meeting there in April.
We are working on another drive thru dinner, this time being a Pasta Drive Thru, on April 14th. Tickets are available online. Make sure to buy your ticket and to tell your friends about it so that we have a profitable fundraiser. Here is the link.
Since our last board meeting, we added a new member, Dan Quiggle. Happy to have Dan on board. He was recently promoted to the Deputy Fire Chief at CSD Fire. He has been a long time supporter of the Lions and has been active with our members with the Scouts. He even worked with us at the Movies in the Park events during the past couple of months.
Finally, last month, Lion Jack Edwards stepped up to handle the duties as our Club Secretary. That means that we have a vacant 1 year director position available to be filled along with our vacant 3rd VP position. Time to Step up & Serve.
I continue to be so very proud to be a part of such a great community minded organization, the Elk Grove Lions Club.

Lions are in 200 countries and geographic areas. We have 45,000 clubs with over 1.3 million members world wide. We have a dynamic history. We are best known for fighting blindness — it’s part of our history as well as our work today. But we also volunteer for many different kinds of projects including disaster relief — across many borders. We serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools with new programs and resources. Internationally, we offer many programs.
We hope you will consider joining our club.
To become a Lion, you must be of good moral character and good reputation in our community.
Membership is by invitation.
